This bright modern kitchen in Catherine Hill Bay is all about clean lines, natural light and effortless everyday living. With a long island bench, warm timber cabinetry and a seamless connection to the open-plan living and dining, it is designed for both relaxed family time and easy entertaining.
How We Brought This Catherine Hill Bay Kitchen To Life
From the first walkthrough, it was clear this home needed a light-filled, low-maintenance kitchen that felt calm rather than crowded. The goal was to create a modern space that could handle daily cooking, weekend entertaining and coastal living, without visual clutter.
We designed a long, streamlined island that runs through the centre of the space. It gives generous prep space, a practical spot for casual meals and a clear view across the living and dining areas. The soft white benchtops and crisp cabinetry keep the room feeling fresh, while the warm timber wall cabinets add texture and a natural contrast.
This kitchen leans towards a modern style. The flat-front cabinetry, integrated appliances and slimline handles keep everything simple and refined. Open sightlines and a minimal colour palette allow the pendant lighting, timber floors and views outside to do the talking. You can see the same modern design language in our modern kitchens.
Storage was a key focus. The main kitchen includes full-height cabinetry and overheads, while the adjoining butler’s pantry adds extra bench space, open shelving and room for small appliances. This keeps the island clear and makes it easy to tuck away everyday mess when guests arrive.
Lighting plays a big role in how the space feels. Feature pendants above the island add character and soften the clean lines, while recessed ceiling lights provide even, practical illumination. Large sliding doors and windows wash the kitchen and living area in natural light, reinforcing the bright and open feel.
We also paid close attention to how the kitchen connects with the rest of the home. The timber flooring runs through the entire level, helping the kitchen, dining and living spaces feel like one continuous zone. From the island, you can see the outdoor deck, dining table and lounge, so the cook is always part of the conversation.
